...Oh yeah, the new mustang. Imma withold judgement until I see a review with proper curb weight and engine options. They're both red, but they - at least in the photos - also have no point of reference for scale. An X6 in real life is HUUUUUUGE compared to a mustang. Most CUVs are, actually.

The mustangs front looks especially similar to some bimmer sedans, and I think you're right, the pedestrian laws make all the front fascias plain vertical faces.

Don't feel too bad about it. After the good folks at Gawker kinja'd our forum, every pick is tiny and scaled down unless this post gets more than a few recommends. It looks a lot like the new 3 Series. Though I kind of prefer this Mustang render over the nose of the new 3 Series, and I'm a bimmer guy.

I also like the rumored specs for the Mustang GT. If the power gets anywhere close to the rumored 500HP figure it's going to be a monster. Pop on some brake and suspension mods for the track and it will be beating the new M4 at a fraction of the cost.

It kinda does. Everything looks like everything now.

I saw a new car for the first time the other day that didn't look derivative of everything else - the Jag F Type. That was the first time in a while that something looked really new and different to me. The back end sets it apart from everything else.

Yup. I don't get too hung up on copycats, ideas are just going to recirculate, but I do get excited when something like the F-Type or P1 comes along and breaks the mold a bit. Even if I'll never be able to afford them.

I think it would be really cool if they kept the GT at about where it is in terms of power, or maybe 20+ hp max, and re-introduced the Mach 1 to bridge the gap between the GT and GT500. But they're probably going to move the GT up a bit to make room for another engine option in the "base" (maybe the rumored turbo 4). Either way, I can't wait for the new GT.
